Foreign body in food pipe and stomach.

The foreign body in the gastrointestinal tract is sometimes very dangerous. It can cause injury, ulcers, bleeding, bowel obstruction and even perforation. Now we can remove any type of foreign body (e.g. Coins, button batteries, impacted food bolus, needles, metal objects e.t.c.) from the gastrointestinal tract with endoscopy without any surgery.

Here we are sharing one case. A 3 yr old child came to ER with a history of ingestion of metal object accidentally 3 days ago. He was suffering from persistent vomiting and pain abdomen. He was not tolerating oral feed. X-ray abdomen showed an object in the stomach and it was removed with endoscopy safely. The child was fine after the endoscopy.
